Biological-age / longevity diagnostics

A panel of biomarkers and functional testing estimating how your body is functioning relative to chronological age, distinct from a standard annual health check.

What it is & how it works

A panel of biomarkers, functional testing, and in some protocols epigenetic (methylation-clock) or imaging data, estimating how the body is functioning relative to chronological age. This is distinct from a standard annual health check, which screens primarily for existing disease rather than functional trajectory.

How it's done

Typically involves a blood biomarker panel, functional assessments (which may include grip strength, body composition, and cardiopulmonary testing), and, in some protocols, epigenetic testing, compiled into a consolidated report reviewed with a physician. Testing is generally repeated periodically (e.g. annually) to track trajectory rather than as a one-off measurement.

Conditions it treats

Why Unfold Longevity

Presented as an evolving diagnostic methodology rather than a definitive score, consistent with Unfold Longevity's evidence-bounded language and its practice of not implying certainty a field does not yet support.

Evidence & safety

Distinct from a standard annual health check; methodology is evolving and not yet fully standardized across providers.

Related questions

It combines blood biomarkers, functional measures, and in some protocols epigenetic data to estimate how your body's systems are functioning relative to people of the same chronological age. It's best read as a snapshot to track trend over repeat testing (e.g. every 12–24 months) rather than a single definitive score, and results can vary by testing method.

A standard check-up screens mainly for existing disease against fixed reference ranges, while biological-age diagnostics combine multiple biomarkers and functional tests into one composite estimate of functional aging trajectory. The methodology is still evolving and isn't yet standardized or regulated as a diagnostic test.
